Integrative Medicine

Integrative medicine combines conventional medical care with evidence-based complementary therapies, treating the whole person rather than isolated symptoms.

About Integrative Medicine

What Is Integrative Medicine?

Integrative medicine is an approach to care that combines conventional, mainstream medicine with evidence-based complementary therapies. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, it considers the whole person, including physical health, nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress, and coordinates conventional and complementary approaches into a single plan.

How the Approach Works

An integrative plan starts with understanding your full health picture and your goals. Care is personalized and often draws on more than one discipline at a time, so that treatments work together rather than in isolation. The emphasis is on the relationship between you and your care team, and on addressing underlying causes alongside symptoms.

Who It Is For

Integrative medicine can support people managing ongoing pain or fatigue, recovering from an injury, or simply working to improve overall wellness and long-term health. It is meant to complement conventional medical care, not replace it, by combining conventional and complementary care in one coordinated plan.
