About Orthotics

Your feet are the foundation of how you move. PEDICS Custom Orthotics are designed to provide personalized foot support based on your individual biomechanics, movement patterns, and goals. At Club Five Health, we combine biomechanical assessment, gait analysis, and personalized orthotic support to help you move more efficiently and comfortably.

What Are Custom Orthotics?

Custom orthotics are individually designed inserts that fit inside your footwear to provide targeted support. Using PEDICS technology, we can evaluate how your feet load and move and use that information to help determine whether custom orthotics may be appropriate. Orthotics are not necessarily the answer for everyone. Our goal is to determine whether additional foot support makes sense for your body and your goals.

How Orthotics Are Determined

Your orthotic recommendation can begin with a PEDICS Biomechanical Assessment. The assessment can provide information about foot pressure and loading, gait patterns, balance, left-to-right differences, lower-body movement, and postural and biomechanical patterns. That helps guide a more individualized approach rather than simply using a generic insert. Orthotics provide support, but they do not necessarily fix the underlying cause of a movement issue. They are often most effective when combined with appropriate strength, mobility, gait, and movement training.

Foot & Lower-Body Support

Custom inserts are designed to provide targeted support based on how your feet load and move.

Gait & Movement

Orthotics may be incorporated into programs focused on gait, movement efficiency, and everyday comfort.

Balance & Stability

Support can be part of a plan that also addresses balance, stability, and mobility.

Athletic Performance

Orthotics can be incorporated into athletic programs to support foot mechanics, movement, and performance, including during injury recovery.

Who It Is For

Custom orthotics may be helpful for athletes, runners, active adults, people with foot discomfort, people with gait or balance concerns, people recovering from lower-body injuries, and anyone looking for personalized foot support. A biomechanical assessment can provide valuable information for determining whether custom orthotics are appropriate and what type of support may be beneficial.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are PEDICS orthotics custom-made?

Yes. The goal is to create individualized support based on your assessment and biomechanics.

Do I need a biomechanical assessment?

A biomechanical assessment can provide valuable information for determining whether custom orthotics are appropriate and what type of support may be beneficial.

Can athletes use custom orthotics?

Yes. Orthotics can be incorporated into athletic programs to support foot mechanics, movement, and performance.

Do orthotics fix biomechanical problems?

Orthotics provide support, but they do not necessarily fix the underlying cause of a movement issue. They are often most effective when combined with appropriate strength, mobility, gait, and movement training.

How often should I replace my orthotics?

Lifespan varies based on the orthotic, activity level, footwear, and usage. Your Club Five team can recommend when reassessment or replacement may be appropriate.
